Parent Reference Group

In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joind to each other as different parts of one body

Romans 12:5

In 2021 a Parent Reference Group was formed, replacing the Parents and Friends Association. This reflects our commitment and that of our system, Catholic Education: Diocese of Bathurst, to strengthening parent and student voice in learning and school experience.

The creation of this new body also reflects the need to look at new ways of connecting with parents and giving parents a stronger, consultative voice in the School’s strategic planning and decisions.

It is my strong hope that the new group will assist myself, our Executive and our staff, in continuing to improve our school and outcomes for students, and to provide advice and perspectives that enhance the School’s success and engagement with students.

The body will also give parents an opportunity to work with key staff in the school, across the areas of faith, learning, wellbeing and cocurricular.

In announcing the formation of this new body, can I sincerely acknowledge and thank parents who have been part of our past Parent and Friends Groups and particularly those parents who have generously volunteered their time and skills in Executive roles. I am very grateful.

The Parent Reference Group will be chaired by myself, as Principal, and will meet one to two times a term from 2022.
